First concrete has been poured for the Facility for Antiproton and Ion Research in Darmstadt, Germany. Russia is one of nine partners of the project (including France, Finland, Sweden etc).
“The potential of FAIR cannot be overestimated, especially since more than 3000 scientists from all over the world will work there, including Russian specialists,» ROSATOM’s special representative for international scientific and technical projects, Vyacheslav Pershukov, said.
FAIR is a new international accelerator facility for the research with antiprotons and ions.
